What’s It About?
Season four may or may not be the final season of this incredible show, following the adventures of Sherlock Holmes, John Watson, and their compatriots solving crimes in modern-day London. (At the time of this writing, the series’ future fate is still unknown).
Short Review: 100 Words or Less (no spoilers)
Season four is technically and artistically strong, like all of the preceding seasons. The acting is strong and the scripts are clever. The third episode, in particular, is brilliant in the way it incorporates so many callbacks to easier seasons. That episode is a powerhouse in many ways; it’s a fantastic and fitting season (and maybe series?) finale. On an emotional level, I like this season less than seasons 2 and 3 because of a few plot details that really saddened me. I won’t reveal any spoilers, but if you’ve seen these episodes you likely know the events I mean.
Final Grade: B-
