Short Review: 100 Words or Less (no spoilers)
I like that this movie has a lot of the classic, old school Hitchcock vibe, but I don’t like that this script illuminates the outdated gender roles of the 1950’s. Doris Day’s character seems to take a lot of orders from Jimmy Stewart’s character, and although I understand that was the norm for movies of this era, it feels so terribly outdated nowadays. With that said, the movie’s central mystery is still pretty solid and the film is entertaining overall.
