Short Review: 100 Words or Less (no spoilers)
There’s a lot of good stuff in this movie: the thought-provoking script, the relatable characters, the overall story, the performances by Sandra Oh and Callum Keith Rennie, and the satisfying ending. However, the film’s visuals and cinematography are awful. I’m not an expert (or even an amateur) regarding various filming technologies, aspect ratios and the like, but I do know that a movie shouldn’t be grainy, fuzzy and out of focus for the entire runtime. The poor visual quality of this movie is a major distraction to an otherwise compelling tale.
Final Grade: C
