What’s It About?
The film tells three parallel (but connected) stories from the past, present, and future: a Spanish explorer searches for the fountain of youth in ancient South America; a modern day scientist desperately tries to find a cure for his cancer-stricken wife; and a futuristic astronaut travels with a special tree through the galaxy at the end of the world.

Short Review: 100 Words or Less (no spoilers)
I think both Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman do good work here, playing different (or reincarnated?) characters in each of the film’s three stories. The script is a bit confusing in places, and I admit that the first time I watched this movie (years ago) I found the ambiguity very annoying; but I watched it again recently and the film made much more sense to me on the second viewing (or maybe it’s just because I’m older). Anyway, although I think I “get” the point of the movie and it’s overall message, I didn’t particularly like it.
