Short Review: 100 Words or Less (no spoilers)
This movie is so refreshing and so worth watching. The story is great, the acting is stellar, the visuals are striking, and the script is deeply moving. Weekend is a heartfelt and honest look at the beginning of a new relationship, told in a pleasantly authentic and grounded way. The characters are gay, but the movie never feels like a “gay” movie. The filmmakers steer clear of the stereotypes and pitfalls that have permeated so many gay films of the past. There are no victims or agendas here, just two young men who found something special when they weren’t looking.

Final Grade: A-
