Documentary about Centralia, a small town in eastern Pennsylvania whose population dwindled from 1,600 to eleven inhabitants due to a coal fire that has been burning under the ground for decades.

Short Review: 100 Words or Less (no spoilers)
Although the technical merits of this documentary are somewhat bland, the story itself is fascinating. A once thriving community became a real-life ghost town, and this documentary shows us exactly how something like that can happen – in my own state and in my own lifetime. This one is worth watching and it leaves you wanting to know more. I spent a lot of time reading up on this story after watching the documentary. It’s also worth noting that many online articles about Centralia cite it as the inspiration for the Silent Hill video game and movie.
