What’s It About?
Despite the descriptions listed on IMDB, TMDb, Netflix, etc., this movie is not about one gay man’s search for love on the eve of his 30th birthday. It’s actually about a cluster of people whose lives keep intersecting over the course of a few weeks in Tel Aviv.
Short Review: 100 Words or Less (no spoilers)
The film jumps between multiple subplots very quickly, asking us to follow a dozen different characters and their sexual triumphs and tribulations. The script is sloppy and haphazard making it difficult to connect with so many characters. Overall, the movie is simply too scattered, but the filmmakers attempt to distract us from the lack of narrative cohesion by giving us several steamy sex scenes. On the plus side, there is a happy ending for two characters that I did manage to care about, and the final moments of the movie seem to come out of nowhere yet work surprisingly well.
Final Grade: D+
