Short Review: 100 Words or Less (no spoilers)
Hateful Eight has a lot of characteristics you would expect from a Tarantino movie: it’s violent, bloody, unflinching, loud, and rooted in eccentric, original characters. The storyline is fine, but sadly too predictable (and maybe even lazy) at times. The cast was mostly solid all-around, blending several Tarantino newcomers with members of his usual roster (Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Zoe Bell, others). Walton Goggins was the clear standout; his performance in this film was great. One big complaint regarding the overall film was the gratuitous overuse of the N-word. It was off-putting and unnecessary in my opinion.
Final Grade: C+
