What’s It About?
This is the third entry in the revamped Star Trek series. This time around, Captain Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise are ambushed during a rescue mission through a distant nebula.

Short Review: 100 Words or Less (no spoilers)
This movie is a disappointment, as a standalone film and as a sequel to the first two. Instead of building on the successful elements of the first two installments, Beyond introduces new characters that we don’t care about (it also drops Alice Eve! why??), scatters the main cast, and seriously fumbles the villain. It isn’t all bad, though. Some of the fun and wit of the first two films are still here; and Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and John Cho are particularly good. The movie also gets bonus points for how it handled Leonard Nimoy’s passing and for enhancing Sulu.
